Started with a broken espresso machine and a dream

When Sarah and Tom opened The Corner Brew in the winter of 2019, the idea was simple: serve the kind of coffee they wished they could find on every corner. Single-origin beans, roasted weekly by a small roastery in Hackney, pulled with care.

The food came later — sourdough toasties, seasonal salads, and cakes baked fresh each morning by Tom's mum, Jean. Five years on, not much has changed. We still roast the same way, we still know your name, and Jean's carrot cake still sells out by noon.
